Lesli A. Hewitt-Spears, DVM

Hey there!  I am Dr. Hewitt and I have been working with animals of all kinds for more than 25 years.  I started out as a kennel assistant, worked as a veterinary technician and eventually held externships during veterinary school at the San Francisco Zoo and The Avian and Exotics Clinic in Monterey, California.  Since I graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002, I have strived to understand and treat canine, feline and exotic species' ailments and diseases with the utmost care and concern.  I love all the fuzzy, furry, feathery, and scaly creatures that you consider as part of your family. I have recently been given the honor of becoming the veterinarian for Safe Haven Rescue Zoo in Imlay, NV. My family consists of my wonderful Husband, Lee, our awesome children - Hunter and Emma, two dogs, two cats, one bird, a guinea pig, 6 chickens,  and a fresh water community fish tank.  It has been my life-long dream to practice quality, caring medicine for all of my animal friends. Livin' the Dream...

Rebecca Nowotny, DVM

Dr. Rebecca Nowotny has been a part of the Quail Ridge team for more than five years now. She came to us from Arizona where she worked as an emergency veterinarian for the Humane Society. She has several furry babies at home that include her dogs, cats, and horses. Whenever it is nice outside, Dr. Nowotny loves to spend her spare time outside riding her horse while her husband rides his bicycle.

Logan Wood DVM

Logan Wood, DVM

My name is Logan Wood and I am a native Nevadan. I grew up in Reno and went to school at UNR. During that time, I studied abroad in South Africa. I graduated Vet School at Colorado State in 2017, where I received the Large Animal Internal Medicine Excellence Award and the Dairy Field Service Clinical Proficiency Award. I also did an externship at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. Following Vet School, I completed an internship at CSU specializing in food animal internal medicine and surgery.

I have a dog, a Nile Monitor and a set of conjoined turtles. I look forward to providing care to all animals, especially the community’s large animal population. I love working with camelids, sheep, goats, pot belly pigs, and exotics. During my free time I enjoy spending time outside hiking, fishing and camping.
