Love Your Pet

Love Your Pet

Is your pet your Valentine? If yes, then read on. If that’s going a bit far, don’t worry, February 20th is Love Your Pet Day, so you can still count the ways you love your furry friend. Here are some fun ways to show your pet some love.

Take your dog for a walk. This is a great regular activity with health benefits for your dog, and for you. It is also a great way for your loyal companion to get a little extra one-on-one time.

Give your pet an extra treat from time to time. Healthy dental treats can help clean your pet’s teeth while giving him something to get excited about. It is also a good opportunity to reward him for specific good behaviors. A little positive reinforcement can go a long way.

Time always seems to be in short supply. Maybe that’s why our gift of time is so valuable and appreciated. Set aside a few minutes for your furry friend. The attention will do you both some good, and will mean the world to your pet.

Like treats, a special toy will bring a lot of joy to your pet. And when you don’t have that extra time, tossing her a ball will add some excitement.

Bath time might cause dread in some animals, but it can do a lot of good. While cleaning your pet, you can give her some attention, and then reward her for enduring the process.

While you’re at it, make sure you brush your dog or cat regularly. Some pets love it, some not so much, but they all need to be groomed regularly. Again, if they enjoy it, they get to feel loved. Otherwise, a little treat afterwards will do the trick.

One of the most important ingredients to anybody’s happiness is good health. A trip to the veterinarian might not seem like a good time, but keeping your pet healthy will help him enjoy life. Be sure to take your pet to the vet regularly to help ensure years of good times together.

Happy Valentine’s (and Love Your Pet) Day!
