Stem Cell Therapy
Stem cell therapy is a form of regenerative medicine that involves putting a stem cell from the body into damaged tissue. At the Quail Ridge Animal Hospital, we have the technology and experience to harvest fat cells (which contain stem cells), send them to our partner lab for stimulation and growth, and then re-inject them into the affected area.
Regenerative medicine for pets has many uses. It is effective for treating the following conditions, and more:
- Tendonitis
- Osteoarthritis
- Hip and elbow dysplasia
- Ligament ruptures and injuries from hyperextension
- General inflammation
- Degenerative conditions that require long-term pain management
The Procedure
In order to collect the fat tissue that harbors stem cells, your pet will undergo minor surgery. During surgery, we collect a sample of adipose tissue and send the sample to our partner lab for activation. Once the stem cells are activated, the lab will return them to us, and we will set up another appointment at which we re-inject the cells into the treatment area.

Artificial Insemination
Artificial insemination is a reproductive technology used in pets to help facilitate breeding without the need for natural mating. Artificial insemination is commonly used in pets for a variety of reasons, including genetic preservation and improving breeding efficiency. It is also commonly used in situations where natural mating is not possible, such as when a male or female animal is not physically able to mate, or when the animals are located in different geographic locations.
Artificial insemination is a safe and effective way to facilitate breeding in pets, and it is widely used in the field of veterinary medicine to help ensure healthy and genetically diverse animal populations.
